Richard Bandey Racing represents the perfect opportunity to experience the thrill of racehorse ownership, with a variety of options available to suit every need and budget, turning your dream into a reality.
By becoming a racehorse owner, you’ll feel part of the family at Plantation Farm, with the same care and dedication that your horse will receive being extended to yourself. There are five different types of racehorse ownership in Britain, all of which we can help facilitate:
Sole Racehorse Ownership
You will be the only person involved in the ownership of your horse, a 100% share. They will run in your name and colours, with any costs or profits being yours alone.
It’s the most straightforward way of owning a racehorse, leaving you in one-to-one discussions with Richard as to your horses plans and training progress. This doesn’t mean it will be just you attending when it comes the time for your horse to race, with guest owners badges available
Partnership
Gather like-minded friends and family by setting up a partnership. Up to 20 individuals can share in the responsibility of racehorse ownership via a partnership, with a defined percentage share, as all owners are registered with the British Horseracing Authority.
Sharing ownership doesn’t diminish the fun of racehorse ownership, with all partners receiving the same level of care and attention from the team at Plantation Farm.
Syndicate
An increasingly popular form of racehorse ownership, a syndicate usually sees individuals pay to join a syndicate, where a syndicate manager takes on the role of registered owner.
With the ability to split the costs of training and purchases amongst more people, a syndicate is a great way to become a racehorse owner, and we are delighted to host a variety of syndicates at Richard Bandey Racing. We also have opportunities for commercially run syndicates to take up ownership at Plantation Farm.
If you want to experience what being part of a syndicate is like, then find out more about The Plantation Racing Syndicate, based here at Plantation Farm.
Racing Clubs
A great way to dip your toe into shared ownership and becoming the most affordable option. As a racing club member, you will not own any rights to the racehorse, as ownership remain with the club itself or a third party. However, Racing Clubs usually involve a reduced all-inclusive membership fee, whilst providing you with similar benefits to that of a syndicate.
We already play host to Racing Clubs at Plantation Farm, and whether you’d be interested in joining one or setting up your own, please get in contact.
Company
A powerful promotional tool for your business, the perfect opportunity to entertain clients or a way of rewarding your staff, a company can register as an owner with a 100% share of the horse. Whether a large corporation or a small business investor, there are numerous benefits to corporate ownership, offering exposure to a wider audience and the chance to build up new connections that can translate to business success.
Whichever pathway you chose, you will gain an insight into the training of your horse, with regular updates from Richard and his team as to their progress, as well as an open invitation to come and see your horses exercise on the gallops and visits to the stables. We feel it’s important that horses should enjoy themselves alongside training, and there’s nothing better for them than spending good quality time with their owners.
The process of becoming an owner might feel daunting, but Richard and the team will be on hand to guide you through every step of the process, from registering with the British Horseracing Authority, through to the exciting days where your horse will be running at one of Britain’s racecourses.
Richard can also help you with the sourcing and purchasing of a racehorse. It’s one of the most exciting parts of the ownership experience. Finding the right horse that will run in your colours is a task we pride ourselves on. Our connections, blood stock agents and regular visits to all the major bloodstock sales here and abroad can open new opportunities where our experience will help acquire the perfect match for you.
